About the Opportunity
Engaged Headhunters has been retained by a Confidential Regional Radiation Oncology Network anchored in Virginia Beach, Virginia to recruit a Board-Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) offering remote or hybrid treatment planning flexibility.
Working alongside DABR-certified therapeutic medical physicists and board-certified radiation oncologists, you will generate complex external-beam radiation treatment plans on modern Varian TrueBeam and Eclipse platforms with balanced daily plan volumes and dedicated physics peer support.
Compensation & Schedule Structure
- Base Compensation: $150,000 to $185,000 annualized W-2 base salary (commensurate with MDCB tenure and stereotactic / RapidPlan experience)
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 sign-on bonus paid across year-one milestones
- Schedule & Remote Flexibility: Monday through Friday daytime schedule (zero weekend or evening call) with remote or hybrid treatment planning options via secure high-speed Citrix / ARIA workstation
- Benefits: Full medical, dental, vision, 401(k)/403(b) match, 4+ weeks PTO, paid MDCB/AAMD dues, and $3,000 annual CEU stipend
Core Clinical Dosimetry Responsibilities
- Advanced External-Beam Treatment Planning: Generate optimal 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT (RapidArc), and SRS / SBRT treatment plans in Varian Eclipse (v16/v18) that satisfy physician target coverage and QUANTEC / TG-101 normal-tissue dose constraints.
- Image Fusion & Contouring: Perform multimodality deformable and rigid image registrations (CT, MRI, and PET/CT) and review AI-assisted organs-at-risk (OAR) auto-segmentation contours.
- Physics & Physician Plan Reviews: Collaborate directly via ARIA/Teams with radiation oncologists for real-time plan optimization and prepare comprehensive plan documentation for DABR physics chart checks and patient-specific IMRT QA.
- Protocol & Knowledge-Based Planning: Contribute to department planning templates, Eclipse RapidPlan models, and ACR/APEx accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: Active Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential issued by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree and graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Medical Dosimetry program (or MDCB certification with equivalent clinical pathway).
- Planning Systems: 2+ years of post-certification clinical treatment planning experience using Varian Eclipse TPS and ARIA OIS (experience with SRS/SBRT, RapidArc, and HDR brachytherapy planning a strong plus).
